Bronze Door
Bronze Door
I have an antique 1927 Sargent front door lockset that my son disassembled, how do I put it back together?
He was trying to be "helpful" without asking permission first! We could figure out where most of the pieces went, but there is a small, wiggly curved bronze spring that we can't figure out where it goes. The lock works now, but there are two buttons on the edge of the door, that are supposed to let you lock the outer knob while leaving the inner knob free to turn, but now they work backwards - the inner knob locks while the outer knob turns. Does anyone know where I could find pictures of these old locks so I could put it back together? Thanks so much!
Yes, that's the same type of lock. But my son took apart the lockset (the rectangular piece) that you normally never open...
is this your lock?
