Porcelain Vases
Porcelain Vases
What does the stamp on my porcelain Chinese vase mean?
I have this big vase that is very nice. It has a red stamp on the bottom that has 4 Chinese characters in it and is surrounded by a detailed border.
I've tried looking up some info online but I only end up getting directed to sites that want me to buy their book ![]()
Does anyone have any knowledge they would like to share?
Trying to help (and learn too) I´ve tried some quick research and found that the red stamp is a sort of Imperial stamp ...
See if it´s something like this one ...

This next link brings a kind of "fruit basket" (in porcelain, of course) with the same kind of stamp ...
The description is in Portuguese but it says " related to the T'ung Chih period (1862-1874) " ...

´Hope it helps !
Good luck !
