Tibetan Bronze
How can I tell if something is bronze or brass?
I have a statue of the Tibetan Buddha Tara. I inherited it and the person I inherited it from received it as a gift from someone who travelled to India however I don't know how to tell if its bronze or brass and would like to find out.
Bronze is a more dull color and has a dark brownish color. Brass is more bright and sharp looking. The color of brass should be like gold or in that color family. (Think of a brass instrument like trumpet or tuba) If you still can't tell, then take it to a local pawn shop or a store nearby and they might be able to tell the difference. Hope that helped!
