Solid Bronze
HELP MATH PEOPLE, I NEED YOU!?
The volume of a box that is 4 ft. long, 3ft. wide, and 2ft. tall is 24 cubic ft. If we take a 3-dimensional object and change its size but not its shape, how will the volume change? How does the volume of the volume of the 4x3x2 box compare to one that is 10 times as big (40x30x20)?
1) How many of the smaller boxes will fit inside of the larger one?
2) If one planet has twice the diameter of another planet and is made of the same material all the way through, how does the mass of the first planet compare to the mass of the second planet?
3)If a solid bronze and very realistically proportioned sculpture of Achilles is 5 inches tall and weighs 3 pounds and another solid bronze statue looking just like the first one is 6 inches all, about how much does the second sculpture weigh?
1. 24,000 cubic feet so its volume is 1000 times the original. So it follows that 1000 of the smaller boxes will fit inside the larger box.
2. 8 times the volume
3. 5/3 = 6/x
5x=18
x=3.6 pounds
