What do you thing the most powerful empire of the older days?
Would it be the Ottoman empire(famous for it's superb Janissary), Persian empire( for its cataphrat and super heavy armored Calibanri), or the Roman empire(for it's phalanx and its Men-at-arms), or the other empire that i not stated here?? Provide your answer and Give reasons for it.
My vote would be for the Roman Empire. All three empires possesed excellent systems of rule and superb military tactics for their area of operation, but only the Roman Empire possessed an intricate system of roads. The fighting skill of your military force no matter how well trained is meaningless if it cannot be deployed. The system of Roman roads allowed the Empire to stay connected through communication, protection, and easy movement to any area across most of Europe.
