Light Lamp
Light Lamp
When you light an alcohol lamp, why does the fire looks a little transparent?
We tried that at school. I've observed that when we lighted the lamp it's a little transparent. I just wanna know why it's like that.
Can someone tell me?
I think it's a property of the alcohol like other combustible materials leaving out less residue when oxygen is made to react on them.
Some carbon compounds like acetone, kerosene and gasoline when burned produce soot (carbon dioxide) which are incompletely burned substances.
